The working-class neighborhood of North Beach is attracting billionaires.

Jonathan Newhouse, the chairman and former chief executive of Condé Nast International, spent $6.2 million on a condo at Eighty Seven Park at 8701 Collins Ave., according to the Real Deal. The unit is one of 66 apartments at the luxury building developed by Terra, Bizzi & Partners Development New Valley and Pacific Eagle. Douglass Elliman is handling sales at the condo.

With other homes in the United Kingdom and New York, Newhouse has not yet determined whether he will use the condo unit as a primary residence or vacation home, said his attorney, Michael Fricklas.

The oceanfront Eighty Seven Park received its temporary certificate of occupancy in late 2019. More than 90 percent of the units are sold, according to Terra’s publicist. Prices range between $2 million to $18 million, excluding penthouse units.

Pritzker Prize-winner Renzo Piano designed the project.
