Real estate events this week aim to aid investors, developers, general contractors

Real estate discussions happening this week in Miami and Fort Lauderdale focus on investors as well as construction trends in the region. Here are the week’s most noteworthy talks:

The Millionaires Real Estate Investment Group, a Davie-based private investment group and consultancy firm, will host a free workshop on real estate investment tips on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Westin at 400 N. Corporate Dr. The group’s founder Michael Poggi will lead the discussion in Fort Lauderdale.

Bisnow will host its South Florida Construction & Development forum on Thursday at the InterContinental Miami at 100 Chopin Plaza from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first panel, South Florida’s Culturally Significant Projects, will focus on construction trends, including starchitects and the race to build the skyline’s tallest monument. The second panel, At the Intersection of Development & Technology, will highlight urban development trends.

Panelists will also mention how their projects have dealt with a shortage of skilled labor, and the likelihood of when the cost of labor and raw materials will rise. Speakers include Louis Birdman, co-developer of One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid, Okan Group Director of Operations and Construction Selim Alpmen and Habitat Group CEO Santiago Vanegas. Tickets cost $99.
