Banksy didn’t paint fields of sunflowers or starry nights, but he’s getting the Van Gogh treatment anyway.

The famous and extremely anonymous British street artist, famous for his stencil technique, is the star of a new exhibit opening at Ice Palace Studios in Miami this weekend.

Ice Palace Studios, of course, was ground zero for “Beyond Van Gogh,” the first interactive art show to hit Miami back in April 2021. Now comes “The Art of Banksy: Without Limits,” which opened its U.S. tour in Atlanta last September after traveling through Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.

The exhibit features more than 155 of the artist’s works, including certified originals, prints, photos, lithographs, sculptures and murals. No, the walls will not bleed moving images of the fields of Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta in their “Pulp Fiction” personas (though you’ll be able to see that piece). You can also see video mapping installations created especially for this tour.

There are experiential areas, too, including parts of the artist’s “Dismaland” from his “Bemusement Park” exhibit and a reproduction of a London Underground subway station. For $2, you can spray paint a T shirt and pretend you’re Banksy himself (or herself — we don’t really know, do we?).

Kemal Gurkaynak, the show’s founder, calls “The Art of Banksy” “not an exhibition but a show with a philosophy as Banksy loves to provoke, shock and even disturb society.”

“Banksy has the unique ability to express through his works some truths that most people don’t have the courage to say out loud,” he said in a release. “And, nowadays, we need to be sincere, empathetic and caring to one another more than ever.”

Originally, the Ice Palace Studios had been scheduled to host the digital show “Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience” for January. COVID-19 concerns caused it to be postponed. The website miamimonet.com indicates that it may open in February.

The opening of the Banksy show comes at an opportune time for lovers of experiential art. The interactive show “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” ends its epic run at the Olympia Theater in downtown Miami on Jan. 16.
