Halloween is happening: Miami’s new drive-thru lets kids trick or treat from the car

There’s even a drive-thru pumpkin patch. But we know it’s all about the candy.
There’s even a drive-thru pumpkin patch. But we know it’s all about the candy.

These days it seems like everything fun is being canceled. Drinking in bars. Going to concerts. Making fun of people in town for Art Basel.

But not Halloween. Halloween is not entirely canceled, because now we have a drive-thru Halloween.

Drive-ins and drive-thrus are big in Miami these days, what with pop-up drive-in movie theaters and even a pop-up drive-in concert venue. The Not So Spooky Adventure & Harvest Market, created by event agency Swarm, is more of a drive-thru, but you and your kids can have some Halloween fun there without even leaving the car.

There’s a radio-guided adventure that takes you on an interactive Halloween journey, plus a drive-thru pumpkin patch where you can pick the best future jack o’ lantern. Kids can load up on candy at the drive-thru Trick or Treating Alley and celebrate the important harvest festival tradition of getting all jacked up on sugar and driving their parents insane.

You can eventually get out of the car, of course. This Halloween adventure isn’t that scary.

Parents can shop at a harvest market, and everybody can grab a bite to eat of something besides candy from local food vendors (note: this does not preclude Mom and Dad from swiping the best candy from their kids’ stashes) . There’s outdoor, socially distanced seating, plus family photo opps throughout the market.
