Things To Do

No hurricanes in sight: Here’s what’s open and what’s closed this weekend in Miami

We spent last weekend waiting for Hurricane Isaias to arrive, and we were not sorry when he didn’t show up.

This weekend, maybe we’ll go to the beach to celebrate.

Remembering what’s open and closed during the COVID-19 pandemic can be confusing. So here’s what you can and can’t do this weekend.

Just remember that Miami-Dade County has a daily curfew from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. Also, masks are now mandatory in Miami-Dade County with a few exceptions; if you’re caught without one, you could be fined.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Only in Dade comedy show planned for Dezerland Park was postponed last weekend due to Hurricane Isaias. But you can see it Saturday, Aug. 8 now. Tickets $50 at EventBrite.

RESTAURANTS

Restaurants are open for outdoor dining, takeout or delivery under Miami-Dade County’s latest COVID-19 restrictions. Some restaurants have closed temporarily during the COVID-19 outbreak, while others have closed for good. Still others have dramatically changed their menus to better serve takeout customers.
