Things To Do

Reopenings, rollbacks, closures: Here’s what you can and can’t do this weekend, Miami

Keeping track of what’s open and closed during the COVID-19 pandemic can be confusing, which is partly why we plan to stay home as usual.

The other part is we really, really do not want to be exposed to coronavirus.

But if you are desperate to get out of the house, here’s where you can go. Just remember that Miami-Dade County has a daily curfew from 10 p.m.-6 a.m., while Miami Beach’s entertainment district has a daily 8 p.m. curfew. The district includes Ocean Drive, Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue from Fifth to 16th streets.

Also, masks are now mandatory in Miami-Dade County with a few exceptions; if you’re caught without one, you can face fines up to $100.

Restaurants

Restaurants are open for outdoor dining, takeout or delivery under Miami-Dade County’s latest COVID-19 restrictions. Some restaurants have closed temporarily during the COVID-19 outbreak, while others have closed for good. Still others have dramatically changed their menus to better serve takeout customers.

Bars

Bars are closed unless they have a food license. If they do have a license, they can only serve drinks outdoors and must abide by the Miami-Dade County curfew.

Nightclubs

Nightclubs are still closed under county rules.

Beaches

County beaches are now open. So keep your fingers crossed for sunny weather.

Movie theaters

Movie theaters are still closed in Miami-Dade County, but a couple of pop-up drive ins are open. Hard Rock Stadium has one weekend left in its Outdoor Theater series, which shows films and Miami Dolphins games at a drive-in inside the stadium and an open-air theater outside. A new floating drive-in is popping up this weekend in Biscayne Bay, too, as well as a pop-up drive-in at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale.

Parks

All Miami-Dade parks are open.

Casinos

Hialeah Park, Casino Miami, Magic City and Calder in Miami Gardens: Closed

Miccosukee Resort & Gaming: Open

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino: Open

Strip clubs

Strip clubs are closed.

Bowling alleys

Museum of Graffiti in Wynwood

Coral Gables Museum, Coral Gables

World Erotic Art Museum, Miami Beach

Malls

Malls are open, many with new hours and curbside pick-up options.
