Jerk brisket, meat pies and gourmet ice cream: Aventura Mall gets 5 new restaurants

The Aventura Mall is getting five new restaurants this summer.

Aventura Mall is opening even more places to eat.

Five new concepts are opening at the mall, two as part of Treats Food Hall (which includes such vendors as Shake Shack and Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy, where we once rated all 22 sauces).

Three others will be located in different parts of the mall.

At the moment, under Miami-Dade County restrictions due to COVID-19, indoor dining rooms at restaurants are temporarily closed. But all of the new restaurants at the mall, located at 19501 Biscayne Blvd., are offering to-go options.

The mall is also introducing several new retail concepts, including Michele Lopriore and Paloma Barcelo (shoes); Eden Park (men’s clothing and accessories); Elie Tahari (women’s ensembles); and the beauty boutique Get Lashed.

Here are the restaurants coming to Aventura this summer:

JRK!

This Jamaican concept, with Chef Wayne Sharpe at the helm, combines tradition and an eye toward healthy choices. The menu includes jerk brisket, lobster mac and cheese and vegan “meat” with island herbs. The restaurant is scheduled to open this summer in Treats Food Hall.

Ciabella Bakery

The bread at this artisanal bakery, which started its life at local farmers’ markets, has opened its first permanent location at the mall. You can buy individual loaves or bread boxes along with signature olive oil vinaigrette, olive tapenades and spice blends to go with the bread. You can go carb crazy when the bakery opens in August at Treats Food Hall.

ArtPie

The meat pies at this restaurant aren’t necessarily made with meat. Some of the tasty pastries involve chorizo or organic turkey. But there are also pies like the Audrey Hepburn (mushrooms and a secret seasoning). There are more than 35 flavors and combinations, plus wine or beer. ArtPie is set to open in July on the lower level near J.C. Penney.

Emack & Bolio’s

You want gourmet ice cream? You got it. Founded as a post-concert hangout for music stars, the chain is known for its wild and crazy flavors like Beantown Buzz (espresso ice cream with cookie crunch and chocolate covered espresso beans). Look for it on the lower level next to Zara.

Pani

At its first U.S. location, this Argentine bakery and café sells sandwiches, salads and bakery items like dulce de leche, waffles con crema or alfajor de maicena. It will open in the outdoor area next to the Aventura Slide Tower in August.
