We hear a JLo divorce is ‘imminent.’ So what does her ex ARod think about it?
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were once one of Miami’s most famous couples.
The actress-singer and retired Yankees slugger began dating in 2017, and got engaged two years later. Their relationship seemed like the real deal, with JLo moving into ARod’s Coral Gables home and their munchkins all getting along famously as a blended family unit.
Though the coronavirus pandemic derailed the wedding plans, we heard a ceremony was in the works. But in April 2021 came the shocker — JRod was done.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they said in a joint statement. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.”
Before fans had a chance to figure out the reason (there were rumblings that Rodriguez was DM’ing “Southern Charm” star, Madison LeCroy), JLo was spotted with an old flame, Ben Affleck. The Hollywood stars known as Bennifer back in the day were caught by paparazzi all over the world looking beyond cozy. Affleck was even spotted hanging out at Lopez’s rental property in Miami Beach, where she was staying until her twins finished school.
Officially back in the spotlight for a sequel, the hot and heavy actors tied the knot about a year later, in not one, but two weddings.
But cracks began to show soon after they purchased a $60 million megamansion in L.A. Paps, who track their every move, caught the duo on numerous occasions looking tense, argumentative and unhappy.
Then the kiss of death: JLo starting showing up solo to major events like the Met Gala and her “Atlas” premiere.
The latest? Reliable gossip site TMZ reports that a divorce from her fourth husband is “imminent.”
So how does ARod feel about the situation? According to In Touch Weekly, the bachelor (who is currently dating fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro) is reaching for the popcorn.
Though the Fox Sports broadcaster spoke highly of his ex fiancée on many occasions, insiders tell the mag that the father of two was a mess after their breakup and believes that “karma” did her job.
“He felt like [JLo] tossed him out with the trash when she got a better offer from Ben and it did a huge number on him,” an unnamed source told ITW. “He went from planning a wedding to watching her marry someone else in what felt like the blink of an eye.
“It was the worst year of his life.”
