Shakira’s father released from hospital after accident amid rumors of her return to Miami
Shakira’s separation from soccer player Gerard Piqué has not robbed La Loba of her noble spirit.
The Colombian singer had already announced that her father, William Mebarak, suffered an accident at the age of 90 and was recovering in a Barcelona hospital.
She made that clarification days ago, because the media reported that Shakira allegedly suffered an anxiety attack due to Piqué’s supposed infidelities.
On Wednesday, Shakira reiterated her point by releasing a sweet video with her father, who has already left the hospital.
“With my dad discharged, already at home and on the mend, helping him with his cognitive stimulation after the trauma. Thank you all for showering us with affection,” Shakira wrote on Twitter in the caption of the video, with a heart emoticon.
In the video, Shakira is seen holding cards with words in red that Mebarak makes an effort to read.
“Say it louder, daddy,” says Shakira with a noticeable Spanish accent, to encourage him to continue reading.
Just a few months ago, Mebarak was in good health and celebrated his 90th birthday in Miami.
Shakira paid tribute to him with an outpouring of love and admiration on social media.
“Lovely dad, you’ve guided my steps, and you’ve lit my path,” Shakira confessed. “You have shown me that life is open and deep like a sea and thus, you have given meaning to mine by flooding it with your joy.”
Her father, she stressed, is her “inspiration, my accomplice and everything.”
The singer is still living in Barcelona though different media outlets point out that her move to Miami is imminent. Miami would be a logical choice, since the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was once a resident and still has family living in the area. But the question that remains is will her soon-to-be ex allow the boys to go with their mother.
“The unknown is if [Piqué] will allow her to take his children to Miami or if, on the contrary, they undertake a legal battle to resolve the custody of the children, since both Shakira and Gerard are two parents that do not want to be separated from the children,” reported Europa Press on Wednesday.
Everything remains to be seen after her break up with the FB Barcelona heartthrob.
