See Joe Jonas go full Sonny Crockett in his latest music video filmed in Miami
They got the band back together.
Joe Jonas is fronting DNCE once again after a four year hiatus and we couldn’t be more pleased.
Why? Because the group just shot a music video right here in Miami on Tuesday.
Jonas gave his Insta followers a glimpse of his look for the shoot. It’s a cross between Don Johnson from “Miami Vice” and Tony Montana from “Scarface.”
The pop star pretty much nailed it: the poofy, blow-dried ‘80s hair; gold rimmed shades; and a pastel pink, low buttoned shirt and white vest with chest hair poking through behind his necklaces.
Social media users weighed on his retro 305 style with lots of fire emojis.
Singer Ryan Tedder wins with his comment, IMHO: “With a look like that you and me need to open an Orange Julius on South Beach. Deal????”
DNCE, which include guitarist JinJoo Lee and drummer Jack Lawless, will drop their collab with Norwegian DJ Kygo called “Dancing Feet” Feb. 25. They’ll all appear in the video, shot somewhere in the Magic City, wearing identical white “Saturday Night Fever” esque suits.
“It’s really happy. It’s that feeling of not really giving a f--k and enjoying life to the fullest,” Jonas told Rolling Stone of the new song. “I think what DNCE always did so well was bring joy to people, which is what I wanted to do with this new batch of music.”
The former boy bander, who owns a mansion in Bay Point with wife Sophie Turner, didn’t mention the ongoing COVID pandemic. But he did say that we are in a transitional period and need to get back to normal soon.
“Obviously, it’s still very tricky times,” he added. “But it reminds us all of being able to go out there and dance and enjoy life.”
