Can’t hurry love? Phil Collins’ ex now has more real estate drama with her latest ex
Armageddon, Part Two.
After warring endlessly with her famous ex husband turned ex boyfriend Phil Collins, Orianne Cevey is on the warpath again, The Daily Mail first reported.
This latest drama has to do with her other ex, that would be Thomas Bates, also a musician.
Earlier this month, the jewelry designer announced they were splitting after a little over a year of marriage.
“I believe the emotional stress of the COVID quarantine caused me to act in ways and do things that were out of character,” she explained on Instagram. “Fortunately, I have faced challenging situations before and like I always have, I will muster all the strength I can, the best team I can find and the courage to do the right thing.”
Gossip watchers may recall Cevey married Bates while still cohabiting with the Genesis legend, and he wasn’t exactly pleased. A brutal legal battle ensued, with Cevey being accused of outfitting Collins’ $40 million Miami Beach mansion with armed guards, not letting in real estate agents and covering up surveillance cameras.
Collins filed eviction papers, and the 47-year-old mother of three (who has two sons with the “Sussudio” singer and another with second ex husband, businessman Charles Mejjati) eventually moved out with Bates to a $6 million Fort Lauderdale mansion. Cevey still reportedly wants her cut of the North Bay Road spread, which the drumming icon sold almost immediately to Puerto Rican billionaire Orlando Bravo.
Now it’s looking like deja vu, Broward County version.
According to court documents, Cevey is attempting to block Bates from taking his share of the waterfront house, and is demanding immediate sole occupancy.
As per the Daily Mail, Cevey also wants Bates, who just came out with an album produced by Emilio Estefan, to return all the luxury gifts she gave him during their short-lived relationship.
She states in documents that she lives in “fear” that the husband will “re-enter the former marital residence and that altercations will ensue or disputes will arise.”
The filing also says that the house will be placed on the market as Cevey cannot continue to maintain the property as she claims to have been doing on her own during their brief marriage.
Bates, a native of Lighthouse Point, must respond to the motion by Dec. 23.
Stay tuned to this local ongoing saga, or maybe not.
