‘It was beautiful’: Shawn Mendes recalls spending lockdown in Miami with his famous ex
When dating Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes was turning into a local.
The singer really liked spending time in Miami, he told the recent fall/winter issue of Rollacoaster magazine, which is out now, but months after their interview.
Mendes and Cabello two were often spotted near her family’s home in Miami, where the Cuba native grew up.
Despite their recent breakup, we have to wonder if the Canadian crooner will return on his own.
The 23 year old reflected on the strange time in 2020, when everyone was locked down, during the height of the pandemic.
“It was beautiful, truly so special,” he recalled. “I often go back to look at photos and the simplicity of that time, we were lucky. It was nice.”
Paps often snapped the couple riding bikes together around town or taking strolls.
“I hadn’t joyfully ridden my bike around a neighborhood since I was 12 before that,” Mendes said.
The “Mercy” hitmaker also seems to miss other things about the 305.
“We were making dinner, just doing normal things,” Mendes said. “The Latin culture is also just so beautiful, so being able to immerse myself in that culture is always really healing.”
