From Miami Beach to Key West, new app lets you rent your neighbor’s pool by the hour

Summer’s here, and that inflatable pool you bought during the coronavirus quarantine has lost its luster. You’re desperate to get in the water but don’t want to drive to the beach (which just reopened) or mingle with random crowds who have been God knows where at your condo pool.

No worries. Now you can rent your neighbor’s pristine pool by the hour for some bliss in the water.

Swimply.com and its app, Swimply, which debuted last summer, are here for you, South Florida. The only swimming pool sharing app has arrived, offering pool rentals from Fort Lauderdale, Plantation and Hollywood to Miami Beach, Key Largo and Key West.

You can also book pools in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, should you so desire.

Simply visit Swimply.com or download the app, available on iOS and Android devices, and see which pools look good to you. A Hollywood pool? A Cutler Bay pool? A Kendall pool? OK, probably not a Kendall pool. But you get the idea.

Pool owners who want to earn a little extra money this summer can list their pools on the website, adding custom information about rules and prices. They can also schedule pool cleanings and other maintenance before or after the pool is rented.

For rentees, know that each pool is inspected for safety before it’s listed. Bring your towel and jump in.
