His team’s opener was canceled because of coronavirus so Beckham had pie in Wynwood
No worries, mate.
David Beckham was all smiles Wednesday at Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop in Wynwood.
And why not?
Sometimes when the world is crumbling all around you, maybe a nice slice of pie is just what we all need.
The former soccer star posted on his Instagram stories a pic of the building’s outside sign as well as a selfie with two MDC cops. “Amazing pies and cakes,” read the caption.
We are glad to see Becks in Miami, and in such a good mood, despite all that is going on.
The 44 year old Inter Miami owner has been on the ground this week to support the team, but nature had other plans: The home opener Saturday night was canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Major League Soccer announced the decision to suspend the 2020 season for at least 30 days on Thursday due to the worldwide health crisis.
But don’t worry. The Miami Herald reports that Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas is optimistic that the team will be back at it soon: “It’s not a cancelation. We are postponing the party. We all understand. These are circumstances way beyond our control. When we open here at home it will be with same joy.”
You’ve waited this long, you can wait a little longer, Miami.
Eat some pie in the meantime.
