If you live in this city you live in the best city in Florida, financial website says
They don’t call it “The City Beautiful” for nothing: Apparently, Coral Gables is the best city in Florida to live.
That’s according to Money Inc., which just released its list of the 20 best places in live in Florida.
Strangely, Kendall was not singled out.
We know there are many fun things to do in Coral Gables. Here’s why Money Inc. likes it:
“If you want green, if you want serene, and if you want the kind of community where you can raise your family in peace, Coral Gables may just be your dream home. With its perfect combination of the residential and the commercial, it offers all the shops and amenities you’ll need, but in the kind of peaceful, uncongested setting that’s perfect for raising kids,” the Money Inc. report says. “The average house price is a tad expensive at $750,400, but with most households earning in excess of $95k, there’s still plenty of disposable wealth floating around.”
Then the website adds: “The easy 20-minute drive to downtown Miami, meanwhile, is sure to please those looking to make the most of the city’s various attractions.”
Has Money Inc. actually been to Miami? Because if there’s an easy 20-minute drive anywhere in this county we have yet to experience it.
But we digress. Tampa was the no. 2 best place to live in Florida, with Miami itself taking the no. 3 spot. Money Inc loves Miami because it is amazing, apparently:
“If you’re young, free, and single, Miami is ideal. Despite being packed with beaches and surrounded by natural beauty, it’s the rich urban culture that’s the real draw here. As Cube Smart notes, Miami has some seriously attractive architecture, not to mention every type of nightclub, bar, shop, and local business you’d care to imagine. Parking and driving around the city can be a pain, but switch your car for a bike (as a lot of residents do) and you’re unlikely to feel the effects. Yes, it’s crowded, and yes, it’s a tourist mecca, but if you can manage the crowds, you’ll find Miami a dream.”
That’s nice and all. But considering the photo used with this blurb is of Miami Beach, we’re skeptical that Money Inc. knows what it’s talking about.
The rest of the top 10: Sarasota; Orlando; Dunedin; Palm Beach; Pensacola; Melbourne; St. Augustine. We don’t know if this is true, but we do know Palm Beach is not in Broward County, as the list suggests. (Hint: The county is in the actual name of the city.)
Fort Lauderdale weighs in at no. 11 The rest of the top 20: Port Orange, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Daytona Beach, South Sarasota, Naples, Lakeland, Niceville, Fort Myers.
