Recalled noodle bowls might have an allergen the packaging doesn’t mention

A packaging error caused a possible food allergy problem and a nationwide recall of Annie Chun’s Japanese-Style Teriyaki Noodle Bowl.

Put simply, the bowls in lot No. 12/25/2020 might have peanuts. Peanuts aren’t listed among the allergens on the ingredient list.

As the company-written, FDA-posted recall notice says, “Use of this product may cause serious allergic reaction or illness in people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanut.”

CJ Foods initiated the recall of the 7.8-ounce bowls.

For those without a peanut allergy, eat away. For those who have a peanut allergy or might be serving the noodles to someone with a peanut allergy, toss the bowls out or return them to the store for a full refund.

Anyone with questions can call 800-459-3445, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, Eastern time.
