Second ‘superfood’ in a week recalled because it might have listeria

A self-described “superfood” was pulled from stores on the possibility of listeria contamination Monday for the second time in four days.

Joining Nuts ‘N More’s Plain Peanut Spread, recalled Friday, are five varieties of Blendtopia’s frozen Superfood Smoothie Kits, 29,078 cases overall. Blendtopia says its problem appears to have come from a supplier ingredient and was found in its internal quality control process.

This is a nationwide recall, covering Smoothie Kits Immunity, Strength, Glow, Detox and Energy with best by dates of July 2021, October 2021 or November 2021. Anyone with these products should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Anyone with questions should call Blendtopia at 844-260-8181, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time, or email support@blendtopia.com.
