Louis Vuitton debuts what is arguably the world’s most lavish airport lounge
Amidst a surge in air travel and a growing prevalence of flight disruptions, airport lounges offer a much-needed escape from congested waiting areas and packed eateries. Louis Vuitton’s latest dining concept at Doha’s Hamad International Airport promises to provide travelers with a Michelin-worthy meal during their upcoming travels.
The Louis Vuitton Lounge by Yannick Alléno is a new addition to the airport’s departures and transfers terminal, above the brand’s store. Reachable through Qatar Airways’ second Al Mourjan Lounge, the restaurant/lounge offers an opulent dining and unwinding experience with elegant furnishings and an array of Louis Vuitton trunks. The tropically inspired room, which looks out over the airport’s enormous indoor garden, The Orchard, is filled with plants and designer furniture from the company.
Renowned chef Yannick Alléno has curated an extensive menu of specialties for the project, as reported by Travel + Leisure. The menu highlights “local ingredients, French favorites, and international fare.”
Passengers are treated to a delectable morning spread, including Parisian and locally sourced baked pastries, eggs, caviar, and warm sandwiches. The sandwiches are even branded with Louis Vuitton’s iconic logo through grill marks, notes VOGUE, adding a touch of luxury to the dining experience. For those seeking a diverse culinary experience, the restaurant offers a range of options, including lighter fare, appetizers, and main dishes. Some standout dishes include the langoustine carpaccio with geranium essence, confit lamb shoulder flavored with yuzu, and rice pilaf with dried fruit and spices. These options are also available à la carte.
In contrast to the Al Mourjan Lounge, where food and beverages are free, everything at the Louis Vuitton Lounge by Yannick Alléno is extra. The eatery follows in the footsteps of other upscale dining options at the airport, including Harrod’s Tea Room, Ralph’s Coffee, and Fendi Caffè.
The lounge is available to Qatar Airways first- and business-class passengers and a select group of Louis Vuitton customers around-the-clock.
