Jay-Z heads to Paris to perform at Louis Vuitton Foundation honoring iconic artists
Jay-Z doesn’t step on the stage for just anyone, so when the 23-time Grammy winner graces the stage - it’s a big deal.
This big deal this time is associated with Jay’s love for art. On Wednesday, the billionaire’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, announced that the rapper would give an intimate performance at the Louis Vuitton Foundation’s Auditorium. The celebratory concert will take place in Paris, France, on Friday. It will coincide with the reveal of the “Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands” exhibition.
The Foundation’s website states the concert will kick off at 9:00 p.m. and tickets are going for €140 ($153.81 USD.
The new exhibition will honor the two iconic artists and display the 160 pieces of art they collaborated on. One of the event’s title sponsors is Tiffany & Co., the luxury accessory brand that Jay-Z and Beyonce have a brand deal with.
They even used Basquiat’s never-before-seen “Equals Pi” print in the campaign.
The Auditorium at the Louis Foundation is “dedicated to celebrating the arts, and brings together musicians and artists of all disciplines.” The gallery’s website states the 25-year-old space has a “capacity ranging from 320 to 1,000 spectators” and hosts a programme of classical, jazz and contemporary concerts.
“Since its inaugural concert in October 2014 given by Lang Lang, the Auditorium has welcomed international artists including Tedi Papavrami, Yuja Wang, Vladimir Spivakov, Steve Reich, Chick Corea and Matthias Pintscher.”
The exhibit opened April 4, 2023 and will run until August 28, 2023. Visit FondationLouisVuitton.fr for more information.
