▪ Senara, co-skippered by Jim Bill and Eammon deLisser, won the Sons of Italy Trophy for top PHRF-class boat in the 60th Columbus Day Regatta held Oct.11-12 on Biscayne Bay. Senara also took the Doren Chairman’s Trophy for top Biscayne Bay Yacht Racing Association entry. Ross Hunton’s Commotion won the Timothy J. Sullivan Founder’s Trophy for top ARC-class boat. Other winners are: Harry Horgan on Shake-A-Leg Miami, who took the Trujillo Trophy for one-designs; Don Lasky on Paparazzi for top rookie; Michael Peteler’s Unicorn, winner of the Trofeo Christophoro Colombo Trophy for top Gunkhole entry; Larry Geller and Ken Scott’s Third Tri, top Multihull 1 finisher and winner of the Nathaniel Green Herreshoff Trophy; Rafael Colon’s Cucubelle II — Jack Schuh Memorial Trophy in the Multihull 2 class; and Karen Mitchell’s Sailing for Life — Santa Maria Colombo Trophy for top female skipper. A fleet of 78 boats competed in the two-day regatta.

▪ Angler Richard Barnett of Savannah, Georgia, and his guide, captain Mark Krowka repeated as grand champions in the 44th All-Tackle Bonefish & Permit Championship held Oct.13-15 in Islamorada. The team also caught the three-day tournament’s largest permit. A fleet of 10 boats competed.
