A second major performer has been announced for the 2026 Winter Classic.

Grammy Award-winner Luis Fonsi will be featured during the opening of the game between the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers on Friday at loanDepot park, the baseball home of the Miami Marlins.

The multiplatinum-selling Puerto Rican singer will perform his global hit “Despacito” during each team’s walk onto the field pregame to get to the rink that has been created over loanDepot park’s infield.

This will be Fonsi’s second time performing at loanDepot park in the past nine months. He was also part of a postgame concert following the Marlins’ season opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates, a 5-4 walk-off win, on March 27. Flo Rida also performed that night.

Fonsi is the second musical performer announced for the Winter Classic. Singer-songwriter Role Model will headline the entertainment for the 2026 Winter Classic. An alt-pop singer, Role Model, an alt-pop singer, will perform twice at the event: First opening NHL on TNT’s live on-site coverage outside the ballpark, which begins at 7 p.m., and then during first intermission of the game.

The Winter Classic game between the Panthers and Rangers is set for an 8 p.m. puck drop and the game will be broadcast on TNT and HBO Max.
