NHL announces headliner performance for Winter Classic. What you need to know
Singer-songwriter Role Model will headline the entertainment for the 2026 Winter Classic, the historic outdoor game featuring the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers at loanDepot park, home of the Miami Marlins, on Jan. 2.
Role Model, an alt-pop singer, will perform twice at the event: First opening NHL on TNT’s live on-site coverage outside the ballpark and then during first intermission of the game.
NHL on TNT’s pregame coverage begins at 7 p.m. with hockey icons Wayne Gretzky, Paul Bissonnette, Anson Carter, and Liam McHugh. Puck drop for the game is at 8 p.m.
Role Model, real name Tucker Pillsbury, has two studio albums: “Rx,” released in 2022, and “Kansas Anymore,” released in 2024 and peaked at No. 82 on the Billboard200. He appeared on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 11 as the show’s musical guest, where he performed his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” off his “Kansas Anymore” album.
He is set to make his acting debut in “Good Sex,” an upcoming Netflix film from Lena Dunham, starring opposite Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo.
