Charges reduced against wife of Dolphins player Brent Grimes
Tamiko “Miko” Grimes, the wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, won’t be facing felony charges relating to her arrest during a confrontation with Miami-Dade police outside Sun Life Stadium.
Prosecutors announced Friday that “after reviewing all of the evidence and statements,” they were instead charging Tamiko Grimes, 40, with misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct.
Police arrested Grimes — in an episode partially captured on video and posted online — on Sept. 27 before the Dolphins’ 41-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
According to an arrest report, Grimes, an outspoken presence on socal media, had refused to stop walking into a “restricted area” before screaming obscenities at Miami-Dade police officers. During her arrest, police said, she headbutted an officer and kicked and threw elbows at other cops. She was initially charged with a felony count of resisting arrest with violence.
