Miami Dolphins sign first-round offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor

One first-round pick down, one more to go.

The Miami Dolphins officially signed offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, the team announced late Wednesday.

This comes a little under 24 hours after the team broadcasted the signings of 10 out of their 13 picks. That leaves just cornerback Chris Johnson and tight end Seydou Traore, selected in the first and fourth rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft, respectively, as the two remaining unsigned players.

Selected No. 12 overall out of Alabama, Proctor arrives in Miami as a key piece of the Dolphins’ new, run-first identity. The rookie will play left guard, a position that he has never played prior to coming to the Dolphins. His presence should also benefit star running back De’Von Achane, a player who already got Proctor excited.

“We’re going to run the s*** out the ball,” Proctor said, adding that it’s “going to feel so good and knowing your blocking for a guy that makes my job easier.”

Proctor started at left tackle all three seasons in Tuscaloosa, racking up SEC All-Freshman team, Second-team All-SEC, First-team All-SEC and Second-team Associated Press All-American honors along the way. He also won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the top SEC offensive lineman, and was a finalist for the Lombardi Award in 2025. His sheer size — 6-foot-6-and-5/8-inches — and length — 33 3/8 inches — make him an appealing prospect.

His size has already been a topic of conversation as of late.

“He’s a baller,” left tackle Patrick Paul said. “He’s fast, he’s physical and for someone his size, he moves extremely well. Just happy to have him in the room. He’s a great guy, a lot of personality.”

When asked about the expectations for that left side, Paul kept it simple.

“Maul people. Definitely move people, be obstructing and be a force for sure.”

With Proctor locked up for the foreseeable future, attention will now shift to Johnson and Traore’s negotiations.
