Dolphins LB Jacob Rodriguez, WR Chris Bell highlight list of rookie signings
The Miami Dolphins have signed 10 of their 13 picks from the 2026 NFL Draft, the franchise announced Tuesday evening.
Outside of offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, cornerback Chris Johnson and tight end Seydou Traore, whom the Dolphins selected No. 12, No. 27 and No. 180, respectively, the Dolphins have the rest of the rookies under contract.
That list includes inside linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, wide receiver Caleb Douglas, tight end Will Kacmarek, wide receiver Chris Bell, edge/inside linebacker Trey Moore, inside linebacker Kyle Louis, safety Michael Taaffe, wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr., guard DJ Campbell and edge Max Llewellyn.
The Dolphins picked Rodriguez in the second round. A leader on Texas Tech’s top-rated defense, Rodriguez was undoubtedly the best linebacker in college football during the 2025 season, winning the Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Award, Lombardi Award and Butkus Awards in addition to being named a first-team unanimous All-American and Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year. His deal is likely in the four-year, $11.6 million range, per Over the Cap (OTC).
Miami then selected one of Rodriguez’s teammates in Douglas during the subsequent round. A 6-foot-4-inch receiver who ran a 4.39 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, Douglas has above average size and a large catch radius, something that will surely help quarterback Malik Willis. Douglas’ deal is probably in the four-year, $7.2 million range, according to OTC.
The second of a trio of third-round picks, Kacmarek arrived in Miami as arguably the best blocking tight end in the draft. His selection somewhat cemented the Dolphins’ shift to a run-first offense. The Ohio State product’s deal is likely in the four-year, $6.8-million range, per OTC.
Bell was the Dolphins’ last pick of the third round and could arguably emerge as the steal of the draft. One of the top receivers in the draft, the former Louisville standout suffered a torn ACL during a late November game against SMU, causing him to fall down many draft boards. Bell’s deal is probably in the four-year, $6.7 million range, according to OTC.
A two-year starter at Texas after transferring from Texas-San Antonio, Moore was selected in the fourth round. He will line up as both an inside linebacker and edge rusher for the Dolphins. Moore’s deal is roughly four years, $5.3 million, per OTC.
Another potential candidate for steal of the draft could be Louis, whom the Dolphins picked in the fourth round. What makes Louis particularly dynamic is unique ability in coverage. His 1-on-1 drills during Senior Bowl practices were a work of art but also showed a sliced of what he could bring to franchise. Louis’ deal is probably four years, $5 million, according to OTC.
The Dolphins then once again dipped into the Lone Star State with the fifth-round selection of Taaffe, a safety out of Texas. A former walk-on, Taaffe worked his way up to a starter and captain over the past two seasons. His deal is likely four years, $4.7 million, per OTC.
Another wideout in Coleman came next in the fifth round. The Mizzou receiver, who measured in at 5-10 and 179 pounds, specializes in the slot and could provide immediate help as a return specialist. Coleman’s deal is probably four years, $4.6 million, according to OTC.
The Dolphins then selected one of Moore and Taaffe’s teammates in Campbell in the sixth. A three-year starter at Texas, Campbell has seen his fair share of matchups against the premier talent in the SEC and displayed great power throughout his 43 starts. His deal is likely four years, $4.5 million, per OTC.
Miami’s final pick of the draft was Llewellyn. The seventh-round selection has shown toughness and an ability to set the edge in the run game, according to Dolphins senior national scout Ron Brockington. Llewellyn’s deal is probably four years, $4.4 million, according to OTC.
With most of the Dolphins’ draft picks already signed, the attention will now shift to Proctor, Johnson and Traore.
