Back-to-back weeks with go-ahead, last second field goals.

Back-to-back weeks with single-digit losses.

For the second-consecutive week, the Miami Dolphins lost on a field goal in the game’s final moments, this time to the Buffalo Bills 30-27.

It was a tough loss for a team that played well offensively but had some costly mistakes towards the end that put the game out of their hands (and into that of the referees). Two penalties — a neutral zone infraction by Chop Robinson just two plays after recording the first sack of his career and an unnecessary roughness penalty by Jordan Poyer for hitting Keon Coleman above the numbers — helped aid the Bills’ final drive to get into field goal range.

As coach Mike McDaniel said after the game, you can’t force the referees to do their job.

“It takes it out of everyone’s hands when you go helmet to helmet,” McDaniel said. “I didn’t see it live but if there’s helmet-to-helmet contact, it is what it is. You have to go strike zone which is below the neck. They’ll call it every time if that’s the case.”

Waddle scores first touchdown of the season:

Break out the Waddle celebrations because this one tied the ball game up at 27.

Alec Ingold questionable:

The fullback, who had questionable designation ahead of today’s game, is now questionable with a calf injury.

It’s unclear how the injury happen or if it’s the same calf that he hurt earlier this week.

Achane ties up the game:

This is shaking up to be a good one.

With just over 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Achane scampered eight yard into the end zone.

Game is tied 20-20.

Bills strike back:

Well that didn’t take long.

On the second play of the drive, the Dolphins lost track of Ray Ray Davis who caught a short pass from Josh Allen and proceeded to run 63 yards for the touchdown.

Bills up 20-13.

Tyreek-Tua connection leads to three:

It feels like Christmas any time Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa connect on deep ball.

Well, they did it near the five minute mark in the third quarter, with Tagovailoa hitting Hill on a 28-yard out-and-up that moved the ball to the Buffalo 11. Unfortunately, the Dolphins could only manage three points to put them up 13-12.

Mostert fumbles:

In the second time in three weeks, Raheem Mostert has put the ball on the ground.

The fumble occurred on the Dolphins’ opening drive of the second half when Miami was in Buffalo territory.

Unfortunately, Mostert’s fumble led to a Bills touchdown courtesy of Mack Hollins. Fins are now down 12-10 after a failed point after try.

HALFTIME STATS:

Tua Tagovailoa has completed 10 of 11 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. Josh Allen, meanwhile, is 12 for 19 with 79 yards and an interception. He has also rushed the ball twice for seven yards.

The Dolphins are dominating on the ground as De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert have combined for 13 rushes for 69 yards. Malik Washington also has a a single rush for nine yards. The Bills entire rushing attack? Nine rushes for 39 yards.

The Bills have had three redzone chances but have only scored six points.

Fins take the lead:

Talk about a long, sustaining drive.

Led by the Dolphins’ clicking run game, the Dolphins powered down the field before Tua Tagovailoa hit De’Von Achane on a screen that the running back took 14 yards to the house.

The scoring drive? A whopping 14 plays for 97 yards that took more than eight minutes.

Dolphins lead the Bills 10-3 with less than two minutes before the half.

Ramsey snags first INT of the season:

Rookie receivers have gotten the better of Jalen Ramsey a few times this year.

Ramsey refused to let that happen when he snatched a ball from Keon Coleman who bobbled the ball which allowed the All-Pro corner to make a play. year.

The takeaway, which was the Dolphins’ first in five weeks, came with the Bills in the redzone.

OBJ makes first catch of the season:

It might’ve taken several week but Odell Beckham Jr. is finally on the board.

Early in the first quarter, Tua Tagovailoa connected with OBJ on a short pitch-and-catch for six yards.

It wasn’t a big a play, however, it’s good to see OBJ make an impact.

The Bills would score on the subsequent drive and now lead 3-0.

Inactives:

Well, it’s official.

Jevón Holland will miss Sunday’s game with a hand/ knee injury. Holland’s absence means veteran safety Marcus Maye will start.

With Holland out, the Dolphins will be without three defensive starters including Zach Sieler (eye) and Kader Kohou (neck). Other injury related inactives include Storm Duck (ankle) and Julian Hill (shoulder).

Jeff Wilson Jr. and Andrew Meyer are healthy scratches.
