Dolphins hiring former Titans assistant to coach outside linebackers

The Dolphins are hiring former Tennessee Titans outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow for the same position in Miami, a league source confirmed to the Miami Herald, the second known addition to new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver’s staff.

Ryan Slowik, who coached the Dolphins’ outside linebackers this past season, is staying on staff, a source said.

Crow coached Tennessee’s outside linebackers for the last three seasons but parted ways with the team amid Mike Vrabel’s departure as head coach. Before coaching outside linebackers, Crow, who played linebacker at Bowling Green, worked as a defensive assistant and assistant special teams coach.

The Dolphins will need to add depth to their outside linebacker room this offseason. Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips are rehabbing from severe lower-body injuries and their availability for the start of the 2024 season is unknown. Second-year player Cameron Goode also sustained a torn patellar tendon in the regular-season finale. And Andrew Van Ginkel is an unrestricted free agent.

Crow joins former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry, who will be the Dolphins’ linebackers coach/run game coordinator, as new additions to Weaver’s staff.

Sports Illustrated first reported the Dolphins are hiring Crow.
