Quarterback Tua Tagoviloa left in the final minutes of the Miami Dolphins’ 56-19 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday with a left shoulder injury sustained while making a routine slide on a fourth-down run.

“Ran, slid, there was contact. That’s all,” Tagvailoa said of the play, adding that he feels sore but overall his shoulder is fine.

At the time of the injury, Tagovailoa had completed 22 of 38 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.

Backup Mike White filled in for Tagovailoa on the Dolphins’ final two drives — the first of which ended with a fumble on the first play, the second on a turnover on downs.

The game was far out of reach at that point anyway. Miami was down 42-19 with less than eight minutes left when Tagovailoa left the game.

Tagovailoa’s health and availability have been paramount for him this season and a big reason the Dolphins have secured a playoff berth. He has appeared in every game this season and if he starts in Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills, it will be the first time he has made it through the entirety of a regular season, which was a goal of his entering the year.

Tagovailoa on the season has completed 69.6 percent of his passes for 4,451 yards and 28 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. Sunday was just Tagovailoa’s third game this season with multiple interceptions thrown.

Tagovailoa said there were times that he “pressed” and was “trying to force throws down the field that weren’t there with certain looks” on Sunday.

“Just got to be better,” Tagovailoa said.

The Dolphins (11-5) close the regular season at home against the Buffalo Bills (10-6) either Saturday or Sunday. The winner of that game wins the AFC East.

“Everything’s still in front of us for what we can accomplish as a team,” Tagovailoa said.
