Latest on Duncan Robinson’s status for Heat-Pistons, with his games played streak in jeopardy

There’s a chance that Duncan Robinson will keep his streak of consecutive games played alive, and that’s good news for the Miami Heat.

Robinson, 27, participated in the Heat’s practice on Monday afternoon at Georgetown University despite a right knee contusion and is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena (7 p.m., Bally Sports Sun).

“It feels pretty good. It feels all right,” Robinson said following Monday’s practice. “Just a play in the paint, just kind of hit knees and came together with somebody. I think it was Brad Beal. But it feels alright.”

Robinson exited Saturday’s loss to the Washington Wizards with 4:56 remaining in the third quarter and did not return because of a knee contusion.

“It’s not a great feeling,” Robinson said of leaving Saturday’s game early. “I want to be out there helping out in any way that I can, even if it’s just on the bench supporting. But I got back there, did some kind of tests. Ultimately, I’ve been fortunate that I haven’t had any sort of knee thing in my past, so the fact that it was that, we just kind of decided and got a recommendation that it was probably best to just kind of take it easy.”

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Monday that Robinson had a “really good day of treatment [on Sunday], and we’ll continue to treat him.”

No MRI exam was needed, but Robinson said his knee “was a little sore” on Sunday.

Robinson has appeared in 164 consecutive games dating to April 9, 2019, which is the second-longest streak in franchise history behind Glen Rice’s 174 consecutive games played.

“The record itself doesn’t mean a lot,” Robinson said. “But the fact that I pride myself in just always being available, always being reliable and somebody you can count on. That is what I pride myself on, not necessarily the record.”

Robinson has also made a three-pointer in 65 consecutive regular-season games, which is a franchise record.

The Heat has outscored opponents by 89 points this season with Robinson on the court. He has averaged 10.6 points while shooting 33.1 percent on 8.9 three-point attempts per game and has started in each of Miami’s 17 games.

“I’m going to do everything I can to just try to play,” he said. “That’s what I do every single night.”

Heat centers Bam Adebayo and Dewayne Dedmon missed Monday’s practice because of an illness, but they were not on the injury report for Tuesday’s matchup against the Pistons.

Two-way contract guard Marcus Garrett (right wrist tendinitis) is listed as questionable. Markieff Morris and Victor Oladipo remain out for the Heat.
