Heat’s Kelly Olynyk to miss Game 3 vs. Bucks. Andre Iguodala available to play

The Miami Heat will be shorthanded in Game 3 of its second-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Center Kelly Olynyk will not play Friday because of a right knee bruise. Olynyk was listed as questionable on the injury report before he was ruled out just 30 minutes before tip-off.

Olynyk scored 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting on threes and grabbed five rebounds in Wednesday’s Game 2 win. With Olynyk out, center Meyers Leonard and forward Derrick Jones Jr. are options to fill his spot in the rotation Friday.

The good news for Miami, though, is that veteran forward Andre Iguodala is on the active roster and available to play in Game 3. Iguodala, 36, was listed as questionable on the injury report because of a sprained right ankle he sustained in the Heat’s Game 2 win on Wednesday

Iguodala’s injury occurred when Milwaukee’s Kyle Korver fouled him on a three-point shot attempt. Iguodala landed on Korver’s foot and turned his right ankle, with officials calling a Flagrant 1 on Korver for not giving Iguodala space to land on the shot.

Iguodala remained in the game to shoot the three free throws, but he then immediately hobbled off the court and went back to the locker room with the Heat’s training staff. He did not return after exiting the game with 1:36 remaining in the third quarter, but he did watch the fourth quarter from the team’s bench.

Iguodala has played an important role as a Heat reserve this postseason. He averaged 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, one assist, 1.2 steals and one block in 22.8 minutes in Miami’s first six playoff games, and the Heat has outscored its opponent by 40 points in Iguodala’s 137 playoff minutes.

Rookie guard Gabe Vincent (right shoulder sprain), who was listed as questionable, is on Miami’s active roster for Game 3. But rookie center Chris Silva (left pubic bone stress fracture) remains out.

The Bucks have their full roster available Friday, with no players on the injury report.
