Griffin Conine and Connor Norby each hit home runs as the Miami Marlins beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-4 on Wednesday at loanDepot park.

Conine’s home run, a two-run shot to right-center field that traveled a projected 403 feet in the third inning, was his second of the season and served as Miami’s final big hit against Reds starting pitcher Brady Singer, who gave up six runs on 10 hits over just 2 2/3 innings of work.

Norby’s homer, which went 372 feet to left field off reliever Connor Phillips, was his first of the season and gave the Marlins (7-5) an insurance run.

Miami also scored twice in the first inning on an Agustin Ramirez RBI double (scoring Xavier Edwards from first) and a Liam Hicks RBI single (scoring Ramirez from third) and twice in the fourth on back-to-back RBI singles from Jakob Marsee (scoring Conine) and Edwards (scoring Marsee, who moved from first to third on a failed pickoff attempt).

Right-handed pitcher Eury Perez bounced back from a rough, 35-pitch first inning to get through five innings against the Reds (8-4). Perez gave up four runs (two earned runs) on six hits and two walks while striking out six. The two earned runs Perez surrendered came on a two-run home run from Reds rookie Sal Stewart, a Miami Westminster Christian alumnus.

Ryan Gusto, Andrew Nardi, Lake Bachar and Michael Petersen each pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen, with Petersen earning his first career MLB save.

Miami and Cincinnati close their four-game series at 12:10 p.m. Sunday.
