The Angels went 1-2 against the Baltimore Orioles to begin their season, winning 4-1 on Sunday to avoid a sweep after losing 11-3 on Thursday and 13-4 on Saturday. The Angels held a team meeting after their first two losses under new manager Ron Washington.

Who are key Marlins players to watch?

Jake Burger: The corner infielder leads the Marlins with a .438 batting average (7 for 16) and six RBI through their first four games. The six RBI are tied for seventh in MLB entering Monday.

Luis Arraez: Arraez started the season 0 for his first 13 before getting two hits in his next five at-bats. The Marlins need Arraez to ignite the offense.

Who are key Pirates players to watch?

Mike Trout: The 11-time All-Star and three-time AL MVP will once again be the leader of the Angels’ offense

Nolan Schanuel: A Boca Raton native who starred at FAU, Schanuel went from No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 draft to his MLB debut in fewer than two months. He is only 2 for 10 to start the season but the first baseman has safely reached base in all 32 games of his MLB career.

Carlos Estevez: The 31-year-old righty emerged as the Angels’ closer in his first season in Anaheim last year, converting 31 of 35 save opportunities.
