Podcast: What Peter Bendix hire means for Marlins. Plus where things stand as offseason begins

The Miami Marlins have their new president of baseball operations.

The club on Monday announced it hired Peter Bendix, formerly of the Tampa Bay Rays, to replace general manager Kim Ng.

The move comes right as the offseason gets into full swing and less than a month before MLB’s annual winter meetings, held this year in Nashville.

On the latest episode of Fish Bytes, Miami Herald Marlins beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre Fernandez take a look at the Bendix hire and what it means for the Marlins in the immediate and the long-term.

After that, the two dive into some of the offseason move already impacting the Marlins — namely Josh Bell’s return and Jorge Soler’s departure — and what is in store over the next three-and-a-half months before spring training begins.
