Miami Marlins finale against Cincinnati Reds delayed due to weather

The Miami Marlins’ series finale against the Cincinnati Reds has been delayed from its originally scheduled 12:35 p.m. start time Wednesday at Great American Ball Park due to inclement weather.

The game is now scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m., a 35-minute delay from the original first pitch.

The groundscrew began rolling the tarp out at shortly before noon. The Reds formally announced the delay at 12:04 p.m. Heavy rain began falling about five minutes later.

The teams have split the first two games of the series, with the Reds (60-56) winning the opener 5-2 on Monday and Miami (59-56) winning 3-2 on Tuesday.

When the game does begin, right-handed pitcher Johnny Cueto (0-3, 5.32) will start for the Marlins opposite the Reds’ Graham Ashcraft (6-7, 5.18).
