The Miami Marlins have shown a knack for the close win and the comeback throughout the first two-and-a-half months of the season.

It’s in large part why they are where they are in the standings — second place in the National League East, fourth overall in the National League and being competitive with just about every team they play.

The goal for the Marlins from here on: Bottle that up. Find ways to sustain that as they continue through Year 1 under manager Skip Schumaker.

Jordan McPherson, the Miami Herald’s Marlins beat writer, discusses that on the latest episode of Fish Bytes.

McPherson then takes a look at the starting rotation, which outside of Monday’s 8-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners to begin a three game series, has generally been one of the top in MLB over the past month after a sluggish start to the season. He also looks at the initial round of All-Star Game voting, which has Luis Arraez as the frontrunner for the NL at second base and Jorge Soler in the running at designated hitter.

The episode then ends with an interview with Marlins major league video coordinator Austin Lamkey, who is the point person for all of the team’s replay challenges. The Marlins are 14-1 on replays this season.
