The Miami Marlins’ series finale against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday at Truist Park entered a weather delay midway through the fifth inning.

The rain began falling hard shortly after Joey Wendle grounded into an inning-ending double play in the top of the fifth against the Braves’ Max Fried. Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez made his way tot he mound and was set to start throwing warm-up pitches when the groundscrew pulled for the tarp. The delay officially began at 3 p.m.

The game is scheduled to resume at approximately 4:50 p.m.

At the time of the delay, the Braves had a 2-0 lead. They scored their runs on a Dansby Swanson sacrifice fly in the third and a Marcell Ozuna home run in the fourth. The Marlins did not have a hit through five innings, with Nick Fortes’ leadoff walk in the fifth being the only baserunner Miami had.

The Marlins dropped the first two games of the series 8-1 on Friday and 2-1 on Saturday.
