The Miami Marlins’ 2023 regular season starts at home, ends in Pittsburgh and, for the first time ever, includes at least one series against all 29 other MLB clubs.

Here are the quick highlights of Miami’s 162-game slate, as released by MLB on Wednesday.

The Marlins open the season at loanDepot park on March 30 with a four-game series against the New York Mets. That initial homestand also includes a three-game series with Minnesota Twins.

With MLB aiming to have more balanced schedules, teams are now playing just 13 games against each of their four division opponents, down from the usual 19. Each team will now play one three-game series against every team from the opposing league, alternating between home and road each season. The exception to this is each teams home-and-home two-game series with their opposing league rival (in Miami’s case, the Tampa Bay Rays).

For 2023, Miami plays seven home games and six road games against the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. They play six home games and seven road games against the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.

The American League teams heading to Miami for series against the Marlins this season: The Twins, Oakland Athletics (June 2-4), Kansas City Royals (June 5-7), Toronto Blue Jays (June 19-21), Detroit Tigers (July 28-30), New York Yankees (Aug. 11-13), Houston Astros (Aug. 14-16) and Tampa Bay Rays (Aug. 29-30).

Miami’s road games against the AL: The Cleveland Guardians (April 21-23), Los Angeles Angels (May 26-28), Chicago White Sox (June 9-11), Seattle Mariners (June 12-14), Boston Red Sox (June 27-29), Baltimore Orioles (July 14-16), Rays (July 25-26) and Texas Rangers (Aug. 4-6).

The Marlins will play at home on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15 against the Arizona Diamondbacks), Mother’s Day (May 14 against the Cincinnati Reds), Juneteenth (June 19 against the Blue Jays), Fourth of July (against St. Louis Cardinals) and Roberto Clemente Day (Sept. 15 against Braves).

Miami’s schedule features two three-team homestands

The first — May 30-June 7 against the San Diego Padres (May 30-June 1), Athletics (June 2-4) and Royals (June 5-7) — is sandwiched between a pair of three-city road trips. The road trip preceding it includes the San Francisco Giants (May 19-21), Colorado Rockies (May 22-25) and Los Angeles Angels (May 26-28). The road trip following it features the Chicago White Sox (June 9-11), Seattle Mariners (June 12-14) and Nationals (June 16-18).

The other runs from Sept. 15-24 with Miami facing the Braves (Sept. 15-17), Mets (Sept. 18-20) and Milwaukee Brewers (Sept. 22-24).

The Marlins end their season on the road with a two-city trip against the Mets on Sept. 26-28 and Pittsburgh Pirates on Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

While the released schedule does not include game times, the Marlins plan to continue with 6:40 p.m. first pitches for weekday night games, with most Saturdays transitioning to 4:10 p.m. game times.
