Miami Marlins

Podcast: What went right and what went wrong on the Miami Marlins’ 10-game road trip?

The Miami Marlins managed to tread water on a tough three-city road trip through Houston, Philadelphia and New York.

The final record over this 10-game set: 4-6, with a 2-1 record against the Houston Astros, 1-2 mark against the Philadelphia Phillies and 1-3 series with the New York Mets.

Not awful, considering this was three consecutive road series against three very good teams.

But not great either, considering the Marlins’ place in the standings and their need to make a push soon to remain relevant in the playoff race before the Aug. 2 trade deadline.

Did they do enough? And is there enough time left to make a push into relevancy? And if there is enough time, do the Marlins have what it takes to get it done? Miami Herald Marlins beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre Fernandez discuss on the latest episode of Fish Bytes.
