The Clevelander at Marlins Park is gone. Area will be used for a ‘variety of audiences’

The Miami Marlins and The Clevelander have mutually agreed to discontinue The Clevelander At Marlins Park ahead of the 2020 season to address new priorities within both organizations.

Located in left field at Marlins Park adjacent to the Marlins’ bullpen, The Clevelander at Marlins Park had been a staple at the Marlins’ home ballpark since it opened in 2012. The area contained poolside entertainment that included dancers and DJs open to as many as 120 party goers as well as field-level seating and table service available featuring food selections from the South Beach location.

“We are appreciative of The Clevelander’s partnership at Marlins Park through the ballpark’s first eight years,” Marlins chief revenue officer Adam Jones said in a statement to the Miami Herald on Thursday. “We are excited about the future use and potential of the field-level space as a fan destination within Marlins Park for a wide variety of audiences.”

Local radio host Andy Slater was the first to report the news.

It’s the latest tweak to Marlins Park over the past two years. Prior to the 2019 season, the Marlins removed their home-run sculpture from left-center field and replaced it with the multi-tiered AutoNation Alley. They also added another social section in right field called The Social: Estrella Jalisco and revamped their concession options.

The team announced in December a five-year partnership with Biscayne Bay Brewing Company that includes the addition of a brew hall on the Promenade level of the ballpark. The Biscayne Bay Brew Hall is expected to be ready for Opening Day when the Marlins host the Philadelphia Phillies on March 26.
