Southridge Spartans prepare for playoffs with shutout victory
Southridge, with the help of big plays, was able to avoid falling in a trap game against Braddock.
Southridge cruised to a 32-0 shutout victory, capturing the runner-up spot in District 16-8A. The Spartans will play Belen in their first playoff game.
Southridge quarterback Dion Hill, in his first start of the season, had 55 yards rushing and 57 yards passing.
The Spartans’ standout player was running back Roshard Phillips, who led the rushing attack with 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Braddock was unable to score but kept the game within two touchdowns until the fourth quarter.
