Johnny Rembert leads Miami Springs past Ferguson

Even though both teams brought 7-2 records into the game, neither was going to the playoffs.

But you would’ve never known it the way Miami Springs and Ferguson went at it Thursday night at Tropical Park. And in the end, thanks to a huge night from receiver/returner Johnny Rembert, Miami Springs prevailed 33-30 to finish its season 8-2.

Rembert wound up with seven receptions for 157 yards and four touchdown catches from quarterback Gerald Anderson, who himself completed 17 of 22 for 256 yards and five touchdowns. Rembert also had a 35-yard punt return and a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that was nullified by a penalty.
