In a game where neither team could gain a clear advantage, South Miami edged out Miami Beach 7-6 on Thursday night at Memorial Field.

The difference in the game was South Miami blocking the Hi-tides' extra point.

"We send people after the kick," Cobras coach David Gray said in reference to the special teams play.

South Miami reached the board in the first quarter on a Jamar Thompkins 7-yard touchdown run. Both teams went scoreless until Miami Beach's Jeffery Jennings took back a 39-yard interception return to the endzone.
