Roshard Phillips ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns as Southridge (6-2, 3-0 District 16-8A) besmirched homecoming for Palmetto (1-7, 1-3) 25-0 Thursday night at Tropical Park with a 25-0 victory. Quarterback Jerry Drakar completed 12 of 18 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown to Rodney Scott.
Jaheart Buford scored on a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown as part of a 19-0 first quarter for the Spartans. For the second game in a row, Southridge had a player leave in an ambulance. Senior linebacker Bobby Williams was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center.
Southridge now sets its sights on a matchup with defending district champ Killian.
