Gulliver Prep water polo standout Gabriel Lewis is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Lewis, a senior, scored a game-high six goals to lead the Raiders to a win over MAST Academy in the regional finals.

On the season, Lewis has scored 91 goals while adding 38 assists and 80 steals.

The Raiders are 20-4 heading into their state semifinal against Sanford Seminole.

Columbus baseball’s Rene Ramirez, Goleman girls’ track and field’s Lydia Kentia, Doral softball’s Meagan Villazon and Northwestern boys’ track and field’s Tywan Cox rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
