Coral Park wrestling standout Sofia Delgado is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Delgado, a senior, finished unbeaten for the second consecutive season with a 41-0 record after winning the 140-pound state championship. She went a combined 66-0 over the past two seasons.

Southwest baseball’s Joel Cabrera, South Dade boys’ wrestling’s Sawyer Bartelt, North Miami girls’ wrestling’s Mya Bethel, Miami Country Day girls’ basketball’s Kayla Nelms and Riviera Prep boys’ basketball’s Dante Allen rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
