Poll: Which Dade high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Feb. 18)

Miami-Dade County’s top athletes are excelling on the road to state in winter sports and as they begin similar journeys in springs sports.

This week, we continue a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Dade County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Feb. 22, around 10 p.m.

You may vote as often as you like until then.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Adam Waich, Scheck Hillel, boys’ soccer: Waich scored the lone goal to lift the Lions to a 1-0 win over Highlands Christian in the Region 4-2A final.

Enrique Garcia Salazar, Reagan, boys’ soccer: Garcia Salazar recorded a combined 11 saves to lead the Bison, the No. 8 seed in Region 4-5A, to wins over top-seeded and defending state champion American Heritage and Belen Jesuit in penalty kicks.
