Lourdes girls’ basketball standout Luciana Picasso is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Picasso, a senior and two-time Miami Herald first-team All-County member, totaled 33 points and 22 rebounds in a pair of wins over Somerset South Homestead and Mater Academy.
St. Brendan boys’ soccer’s Jonas Duque, Columbus football’s Bryce Fitzgerald and Dr. Krop boys’ soccer’s William Obando rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
