Norland football standout Ennio Yapoor is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Yapoor, a junior, threw for over 300 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another score to lead the Vikings to a 52-27 win over Monsignor Pace in a Region 4-2M semifinal.

Heading into Norland’s regional final against Miami Central on Friday, Yapoor has completed 70.8 percent of his passes for 3,560 yards and 25 touchdowns against four interceptions. He has also rushed for 514 yards and nine touchdowns.

Palmer Trinity boys’ cross-country’s Henry Stark, True North football’s Zach Katz, Columbus football’s Willis McGahee IV, Ransom Everglades boys’ cross-country’s David “Chuli” Serra and Miami Beach girls’ soccer’s Vy Elo rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
