Gulliver Prep swimming standout Reese Rosenthal is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.

Rosenthal won the state championship in the 100 breaststroke at the Class 2A meet, finished fourth in the 50 freestyle and was part of two Gulliver Prep relays that finished in second place (200 medley and 200 freestyle).

The Raiders as a team finished as state runner-up.

Doral Academy girls’ volleyball’s Angie Vazquez, Miami Springs girls’ golf’s Gia Culler-Guerra, North Miami Beach football’s Frank Montijo and South Dade football’s Sawyer Bartelt rounded out this week’s participants.

The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
