Results are in. Braddock cross country standout voted Dade High School Athlete of the Week
Braddock cross country standout Annabella Cardona is the Dade High School Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Cardona, a senior, ran a time of 19:34.85 to secure the GMAC individual title and lead the Bulldogs to the team title.
Cardona individually and Braddock as a team are both looking to build on last season’s success in which the Bulldogs finished second at state in Class 4A and Cardona finished fourth individually.
Miami Palmetto football’s Lucas Goenaga, Hialeah football’s Andre Fletcher Jr., Miami Central football’s E.J. Marcelin and Booker T. Washington’s Ben Hanks Jr. rounded out this week’s participants.
The Miami Herald Athlete of the Week polls — now one each for Miami-Dade and Broward counties — open Sunday every week and close around 10 p.m. Thursday.
